About Our Church

About CVCC

The Champlain Valley Christian Center is a Non-Denominational Christian Fellowship.

The church can best be characterized as an evangelical charismatic congregation.

We fellowship with churches of all evangelical denominations through local and area pastors fellowships, prayer meetings, prayer summits and city wide church and community events.

We presently gather together to touch the heart of God, grow in our faith, and serve our community.

God has a special purpose and plan for your life.

Our Church desires and seeks one thing, God's presence. Jesus saved us, set us free, and delivered us from more than we could ever communicate in one lifetime. He forgave our sins, healed our diseases, removed our shame, stabilized our emotions, and strengthened our weaknesses. He is real. His love is genuine. We want you to know Him personally and intimately because that is what He longs for. He is The One True Loving God. In the same way that He has loved and cared for us, He wants to love and care for you.

Bad news is practically all you hear or see today. The Champlain Valley Christian Center is all about good news. You dont need to be perfect to go to church. In fact, Jesus died for the people who are in need of help. Jesus is the great physician. He can heal your broken body, calm your desperate soul, and repair your wounded spirit. He will never leave you disappointed; feeling left out, or passed over. When you accept Jesus, you are adopted into His family.

God wants to be invited into your mess today. God wants to be invited into your problems today. God wants to be invited into your life today. He is your answer, your solution, and your purpose for living. He is only just a breath away...

None of us here at the Champlain Valley Christian Center came to God based on our own goodness. We came to Jesus with our mess, our weakness, our shame, and our guilt. Jesus loves us and has delivered us. The first time we heard Him speak to our hearts, He said, come just as you are. If you would hear Him today, Jesus would say, Come just as you are.

Psalm 130:3-4

If You, LORD, were to mark iniquities [sins], O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared [and worshipped].

Every choice you make is a clear demonstration of your values.

We Value:

Deepening Our Relationship with Jesus Christ

Devoting Ourselves to a Lifestyle of Godliness

Developing Genuine Relationships

Demonstrating the Love of God to all People

Praise and Worship

Jesus was resurrected from the dead. His praise and worship likewise, is alive and full of new life.

According to the Holy Bible, praise and worship are demonstrations. Not demonstrations for people to observe and scrutinize, but demonstrations for God to observe and inhabit. God unmistakably lives, dwells, and resides where He is praised and worshipped in spirit and in truth.

Praise and worship could be described as:

Outward expressions of a heart felt hunger for God...

Spirited indications signifying gratitude for Jesus...

Reverent demonstrations of absolute abandonment to the adoration of the Holy Spirit...

Genuine biblical worship necessitates the complete desertion of stifled traditional religion. Artificial rituals and customs must be exchanged for truth and authenticity. By discarding counterfeit substitutes and replacing them with Biblical examples, we are liberated to worship God in spirit and in truth.

By worshipping God the way He prefers, we generate an environment that calls upon the complete capacity of His tangible presence. The Holy Spirit's noticeable attendance can then disclose God's immeasurable love and power.

By way of sounds and actions, God Himself designed what true worship is. God cannot pull away from worship sounds and actions made in His honor. His detectable presence is literally drawn to them. You will, experience the Spirit.

We invite you.

God invites you.

What We Believe

Beliefs

The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God.  We believe in His substitutionary death for all men, His resurrection, and His eventual return to judge the world.

Salvation
We believe all men are born with a sinful nature and that the work of the Cross was to redeem man from the power of sin.  We believe that this salvation is available to anyone who will receive it.

The Holy Spirit
We believe in the existence of the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity and in His interaction with man.  We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as manifested by the fruit and the gifts of the Spirit.

The Sacred Scripture
We believe in the scripture as the inspired Word of God and that it is the complete revelation of God's will for mankind.  We believe in the absolute authority of the scripture to govern the affairs of men.

Stewardship
We believe that every man is the steward of his life and resources which ultimately belong to God.  We believe that tithing is a measure of obedience to the scriptural principles of stewardship.

The Church
We believe in the Church as the eternal and universal Body of Christ consisting of all those who have accepted the work of the atonement. We believe in the need for a local assembly of believers for the purpose of evangelism and edification.

Praise, Worship, and Prayer
We believe in the worship of the Lord through singing, clapping, dancing, music and the lifting of hands. We believe in the authority of the believer to ask freely of the Lord and to be in continual conversation with Him.

Body Ministry
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the Church body through the anointing of oil by the elders of the church.

Evangelism
We believe that evangelism is the obligation of every follower of Jesus Christ. The Lord commands us to go out and make disciples of all the earth. We believe that each person is responsible to witness with their life and their testimony. Soul winning is at the heart of Jesus' Ministry.

Water Baptism
We believe in the ordinance of water baptism by full immersion in obedience to the Word of God. All those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior should be baptized in water as a public profession of their faith in Christ and to experience what the Bible calls the "circumcision of the Spirit."

Our Commitment to Israel
We believe in the promise of Genesis 12:3 regarding the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. We believe that this is an eternal covenant between God and the seed of Abraham to which God is faithful.

The Priesthood of the Believer
We believe that every believer has a unique relationship to the Lord. As His children, every Christian has immediate access to the throne of Grace and the ability to manifest the power of the Lord Jesus Christ in ministry.
